Hello, after a bucket-load of reading in this section I am still unsure of which Castrol product to use in my Nissan Patrol 4wd.
The manual states gl-4 for transmission and gl-5 for the two diffs although the rear is LSD.
We are not spoiled for choice down here so unless the oil is from a global petroleum company it can be very hard to find and overtly expensive to buy because of freight etc .
I decided on Castrol because I can find their products. I like the idea of their boron additive oil and also the Dello and also their synthetics, they have so many different choices!!!
Put simply there must be a standout oil in their range for each part I want to fill.
The manual asks for 75-90 for manual, 140 for LSD and no recommendation on the front diff. I am totally flexible in the face of expert opinion or any opinion actually(getting frustrated).
So please can someone hand me the best recipe from this company, within reason money is no object this time around.
cheers and thanks for any help.
