Best Buy using Door Dash for deliveries

I ordered a device from Best Buy yesterday. Delivery is included. After placing the order the verification states that Door Dash will be making the delivery. I have never heard of such a thing for deliveries other than food. So am I supposed to tip this person? Of course no tipping to UPS, USPS, Fedex, or Amazon. Has anyone had this happen to them on an order for merchandise?

HEB uses similar outsourced delivery services. If their app or front end offers tip services, that is where you do it. Otherwise, it shouldnt be expected.

Some parts houses use them and Uber for deliveries. Its cheaper than having a driver and moves any liability away from the store.

If we use Uber for ambulance, I don't see why not use DoorDash for electronics.

I order NGK spark plugs from AAP and DoorDash delivered them to my house at like 8:30 AM.

My dad does DoorDash and has picked up auto parts from the store and delivered them. Mainly if the shop that orders it is out of their delivery range. He has also done like PetSmart and Walgreens and other places too.

Yeah he is. Once or twice a month these days because he doesn’t want to work.
