got my murray running, original belt or at least the belt that's on there is starting to get chewed up.
I added on a pix blue kevlar belt to my order for a new input and idler pulley,
the 8" input pulley on the transaxle I can see is bent, and the idler as a flat spot burnt into it.
How are pix belts?
what are good belts for riding mowers and tractors?
I plan on using this thing to tow and pull stuff, the cutting deck is removed.
And it's a 95" x 1/2" belt.

I have found also the OEM belts seem to last longest on my John Deere. If the blue Pix belts are similar to the blue belts at Tractor Supply co, they hold up pretty well.

I've had great luck with Oregon replacement belts for MTD products.

I've had JD replacement belts last 10+yrs on JD products.

Thing is, even a cheap belt will last provided all the things it touches are in perfect working order. It's rarely the belt itself that fails. Something caused it to fail.

Stens sold a "kevlar" belt that was better than OE in my opinion...it would not retain a memory over winter storage that caused other belts to fail the first mowing in spring...they also lasted an extremely long time.

We ran a lot of belts through this mower before we tried kevlars, as far as I know; my parents are still using the first belt many years later with the new replacement still hanging on the garage wall!
