Right now, I am using Windex Multi-Surface as my "around the house" all-purpose cleaner. I use it for cleaning ink off whiteboards, cleaning glass, countertops, etc. It does its job, but is a bit on the pricey side.

Preferably, I want something that has better degreasing capabilities than what I have, but is still marketed as a no-rinse formulation. I would also like something that I can purchase in a gallon-size.

What do you folks recommend?

Thanks!

It's not for glass but I use something called "Super Clean" all the time. Comes in a big purple bottle, either a spray bottle or a gallon jug. I've seen it at a lot of different automotive type stores.

This is the best NON SCRUBBING cleaner I've ever used. I sprayed some on the engine of my 30 year old chevy and it's clean enough to eat off of. Just spray on and rinse off. I was amazed, I thought I'd have to use more of a stronger solvent to do that...(it's biodegradeable and not some kind of nasty chemical either)

Was it called Castrol Super Clean? That is some strong stuff, it was great at cutting grease and cleaning engines. I might just have to grab some again, it did work well. The Super Clean I'm thinking of was pretty nasty? That is if we're talking about the same thing, its been a while.

I don't think so, doesn't say Castrol anywhere on the bottle. Almost seems like a Royal Purple product, it's exactly the same color as their bottles.

Guys, I'm not going to use Castrol Super Clean or anything terribly caustic for household cleaning.

What do you guys use for cleaning your kitchen and countertops?

The stuff I'm talking about is not caustic. It is EXCELLENT for general purpose cleaning use. There are a few different things you can't use it on, such as glass, read the bottle.

I use vinegar and water for glass with newspaper. For countertopsI use terpenes (Sun and Earth) or ammonia in water (floors). Toilets, I use apple scented lysol bathroom cleaner. For tough countertop or oventop spills stains I use a pinch of paste dishwaser det (Cascade) in a splash of water. Simple green works pretty darn good but I personally dont like the smell.

I always liked Simple Green, it can be used on just about anything in the house. Although I never tried it on glass.

Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner. You get it from their detailer line so you are able to dilute it as you see fit.

This also means that you get a fairly large quantity which makes its value better than anything like Simple Green or the like.

Castrol sold Super Clean to another company and hence Super Clean is no longer associated with Castrol. As far as I can see from my use, the formulate has remained unchanged. It is strong stuff though. You could use it as all purpose cleaner after dilution but NOT on glass.

I've been using Kirkland Environmentally Friendly Multi-Purpose Cleaner from Costco with very good results. It has a pleasant citrus odor and has worked quite well on the cleaning tasks on which I have used it. It comes in a gallon container with a filled 32 ounce spray bottle attached. I do not recall the price but it probably was not expensive or I would not have bought it.
