The bottom vinyl trim on my front passenger side door just started splitting away from the metal where it was attached. What's the best adhesive to secure it so it stays in place ?

I would use an outdoor rated urethane adhesive like the 3M product glass shops use to install windshields. It is strong enough to retain the windshield from ejecting in a high speed crash, so it will easily hold the vinyl trim piece. Another benefit is that it cures quickly. It is currently on sale for Prime Days on Amazon.

Thank you!

I worked in a body shop way back in the day (early 80s) and we would exclusively use 3M rubber (the black stuff) double sided tape. Don't use the foam tape because it will eventually come apart. This is much easier than trying not to make a mess w/adhesive glue, etc.

When I bought my car used, 2 caps were missing on the door handles.

I bought new ones (with Lexus they came painted). I stuck the new ones on with this

Almost 9 years later, they never fell off, nor did the original 2 that were there 9 years ago.

But it is very difficult to remove so neatness is a must when handling!
