Looking for some experiences with this product.

I put it in my Saturn and the oil consumption has nearly stopped at this point. It cleans unlike anything I have ever seen. Amazing stuff at the right price.

I was burning about a quart every 3-4,000, which really isn't bad for these engines, but I wanted a product that would help clean my rings and get the oil consumption to slow down.

After using Berryman's B-12 Chem Tool product, I am sold. I am now only burning about half a quart.

This stuff is AWESOME!!!!

Yeah, if you use it all the time. This will probably be the only time I run it through.

It is so good you don't need more than one treatment or a maintenance dose. One is all it takes! I am excited about this product.

Nice. A one time use to Clear things up should not hurt a thing.

Its a strong additive so it should clean very fast. But I would not worry about it cleaning to fast, and you clogging something.

Now, you might want think about useing a high quality synthetic.

? did you actually pour it into the crank case??? how long did you leave it in --- i would be afeard to do something like that to my nice engine ... I thought it was a lot safer to drain a quart of oil and put in a quart of kerosene, then idle the engine for 20 minutes, then drain the whole mess. that berryman stuff contains some pretty strong stuff - toluene, acetone, etc --- yikes!!!

Hey guys,

The stuff I used came in a white plastic bottle. It is not called B-12, but I call all their stuff B-12 for some reason. LOL. I found it at an independent Carquest store, but you can find it at a lot of places. I followed the directions to a tee as I got the old oil of out there right after I was done as this stuff is very strong. The oil was gnarly looking for sure. This is a one shot deal as I do not recommend using this as regular therapy.

"Oil System Cleaner

Uses a combination of polar and non-polar solvents in high viscosity petroleum oil to safely and quickly remove deposits from the engine oil lubrication system. The concentrated formula limits viscosity reduction and protects the engine during the cleaning process. Simply add CHEMTOOL Oil System Cleaner to the oil, circulate for 2-3 minutes and then drain the oil to remove the engine deposits from the engine.
Part #4015"

Where did you buy Chemtool Oil System Cleaner ?

I want to try it in 200k miles '94 LS400, it does not have sludge but there is heavy vanish in the engine. If it does remove vanish without causing damage to the engine then I may try it in 99k miles '00 E430.

Now I know why Saturn Fan is bashing Frank, are you getting paid too tell us about Berryman's B-12. Are you a Berryman B-12 Cheerleader.

This sounds like a BG Flush Cleaner type deal.
You bought this at CarQuest, it uses solvents, this stuff sounds old school.

If the stuff is so good why are you still burning oil.
Your telling people where to go buy it, this sounds like a sales pitch to me.

I asked where did he buy it, that why he posted the place he bought it. I don't think he tried to promote Chemtool for personal profit.

Guys,

I won't even bother to feed the troll by responding to a comment that I am trying to sell or profit from a mass produced product.

It worked for me, someone asked me where you can buy it, I posted that, etc.

I mentioned I had good luck with Anco brand windshield wipers therefore I must be a shareholder. This Auto-RX back and forth stuff is getting old.

You will never again see me post in the "Oil Additives" topic. It's not worth my time.

Have you guys gone to the Berryman website and read what this product is made out of:

1) Mineral Spirits
2) Acetone

There are also some other chemicals in there. I asked my Dad if he would use something inside his engine that had acetone in it.

He said this ACETONE is more potent than Mauratic acid. I said will it eat through rubber seals, and he said it will eat through anything. The stuff can and will cause cancer and if you are around the stuff you need a ventilation mask.

This product is a step above paint thinner and belongs with Gunk Motor Flush.

I propose that everyone use this product and Saturn Fan and myself can open up a chain of repair facilities too replace all of the seals on everyone's engines.

I looked around on the net and read that this product will destroy your seals. They recommended another product that is not harsh, and I am sure everyone can guess what that product is.

I loved their website, a bunch of guys dressed up as mechanics holding up the product. I am sorry, but I would use Cermax, which you guys on here had a big uproar about, before using this old school Berryman product.

If I am wrong please post some proof or oil analysis to back up this product from 1918, because using this stuff sounds like a nightmare happening after 5000 or 10,000 miles.

does not sound like a sales pitch to me either.

he tried something and it worked for him. Auto-rx is not for everyone, and does not work for every application, just like other products on the market that dont do what they are supossed to do for every single person who tries it. Auto-Rx is a great product, proven time and time again that it does what it is supossed to do, slowly solidify and clean the inside of your motor.

The stuff he used is a solvent, says so right in the product description. He had good results with it and is just telling us of his experience. Does not mean it is the new king of motor cleaners, just an option for people to think about if auto-rx is not in their budget.

No need to get hostile on someone because they had a positive experience with a product and is letting people know about it

This is great Saturn Fan is now calling me a troll, he complains that I am a Auto-Rx cheerleader.

So today, I respond to a post where a gentleman asks should I just stick with Maxlife or do Auto-Rx. I responded by saying " read all of the posts and make up your own mind". I did not even mention Auto-Rx in my response.

I figured since Saturn Fan sounds like he is against adding anything to the engine oil I would try to appease him.

He can call me an Auto-Rx cheerleader, but when I come back with calling him a cheerleader for Berryman he gets upset.

I would just ask Gary Allan if he would use this product and ask him if he thinks my responses about Auto-Rx have sounded like I am just posting my observations. I am sure that Gary would speak up if he thought I was not telling the truth in any of my posts.

If my posts and responses to questions about Auto-Rx have sounded like I am a cheerleader, I propose that I will respond to future Auto-Rx questions by sending the person who asked the Auto-Rx question a PM.

i always say "use auto-rx" when applicable, and I am basing that solely on the proof on here and testimonies from here, because it flat out works. Again, not every single person who uses it will have the results that the next guy does, the results may be minimal, but I think we can all say that auto-rx does in deed perform like it is supossed to.

People throw out the "try auto-rx" sayings because as it stands now, that is one of the few products that work! Something may come along that is even better, but right now auto-rx is on top. Does that make me a cheerleader as well?

Not too concerned about it really.

I've never tried this stuff before. I may use it as a "rinse" in place of K+W if I ever need to do one again.

And yes c3po, you are trolling now.

I used to use Chemtool all the time in previous cars. I still use it in my gas tank. I love the stuff. Best OTC mix of solvents out there. I've shied away from using it as a flush b/c I seem to have a delicate engine. I have noted better results from the arx but I have not seen the specific Chemtool product you are talking about. Is it as thin as the regular stuff?

Y'all, let's puleez try and keep the thread civil and on topic for once!
