Well, I have been using Mobil 1 Ep 10w30 now for about 2 weeks, and all I can say is,

I love it! (Mobil 1 Filter as well.)

I first fell in love when the oil started to pour out of the spout, and it was a rich, golden color. It looked so much better than any other oil I'd seen before. It kind of smelled good too. (Weird eh?

Well, the first thing I noticed after starting it, was a smoother idling engine. It has also begun to exhibit more power at all rpm's. It seems quicker off the line especially.------------

Also, I added 10 oz's of Militec to the last 1/3 of a quart or so of oil. I didn't add this final quart until the oil warmed up. I drove it around for 10 minutes or so, then pulled over and put it in. Next, I continued driving to my parents house, because they conned me into fixing their computer for the 80th time.

That's my review folks. Seat of the pants, and up to the minute. I have to admit, I don't like Castrol anymore. I like

Mobil 1 EP, and Militec 1, my new choices for ultimate backyard mechanic engine protection.

Well call me a naysayer..but I always find it hard to believe that there is a significant difference between one oil or another in terms of idling, etc. Now if we are talking a difference in the dead of winter between a 15W-50 and a 0W-20 maybe I'll buy it

I Just put some in my civic and did notice a quieter startup, but this is my first synthetic oil change with this car also. Previously used castrol GTX. both 5w30 grades.

The new Mobil 1 EP looks like a pretty robust oil IMO. I'm curious to see what the extra 50% SuperSyn does to it.

I also just started my first run of Mobil 1 EP, in the 5w30 flavor. I had a uoa of M1 5w30 previously and liked the results. My attempt with GC in my Blazer(between M1 and M1 EP) did not go so well. Many will not believe but this Blazer has a noticeable difference with Mobil 1. Not sure how long I will go as far as an OCI.

Moi aussi, Al, moi aussi.

Personally, I prefer Militec ON my Kahr. A Kahr PM9, that is, along with my H&K, SIG, Beretta, and S&W! Have you done any UAOs on oil which has had Militec added to it? It's been forever since I've used Militec in a crankcase and I've never done a UOA on any car I've owned. I do guarantee a UAO on the oil currently in my 2001 Infinit I30: Saab 0W30 full synthetic long life turbo oil (I use Mobil 1 5W-40 in the Saab). This is the "European formula" stuff, available at the dealer (no longer) in 4 liter bottles with Swedish markings all over the bottle. Supposedly, Mobil was making this oil especially for Saab and/or the European market and Saab was importing it into the U.S. to the dealers at a great price. It makes me wonder if the new Mobil 1 EP is not, in fact, derived from that "European" formulation?

Hey there dkryan, so does this mean you are a kahr guy?

Just kidding. Well, my observation whilst using Militec on my Glock and rifle is this....no wear on moving parts.

From this one could assume that a UOA would show quite a few less metals and byproducts of wear in general because of the impregnation of the metal surfaces by Militec through molecular bonding once the temp reaches 150 degrees or so. Boy, sounds like a Militec commercial.

Of course, I have not performed a UOA because of my prominence as a touchy feely, seat of the pants backyard mechanic type.

By the way, did I mention that I love

Mobil 1 EP and

Militec.

Well, that's about it. I guess someday I might send in some oil for a test, but probably won't until I start seeing some regular, consistent reports. They all seem to vary a lot, even when done by the same company. Any opinions on this?

"Ever propogating the ultimate protection of engine bearings, cam lobes and cylinder walls the world over through educating the public of the importance of metal impregnation by the use of products like Militec.".......or something like that.
