Exactly. I couldn't agree more.

Someday, we all need to evolve from the music we've listened to since we were younger. My tastes are all over the place. I used to love '60's rock. Not any more. If I here a Beatles song, my belly tightens up and I feel like I'm listening to a commercial or something. I have to get rescue my ears immediately.
Many folks at work love them...no, they idolize them. They think it bizarrely strange when I tell them I stopped listening to them decades ago. They begin to have a puzzled look when I tell them I prefer Sinatra. Lol...

Yea I cannot even listen to the local "classic rock" station anymore as I am so sick of hearing the same old playlists for the last 40-50 years...lol. I call that station "Classic Rock for Old Fogies" Don't get me wrong, I like all kinds of music but seems that alot of the old stuff has been under played and we get the Beatles, Led Zep, Eagles, Tom Petty etc over and over...its like a bad dream.

Yes...good post. Better to hand pick all of your music and not depend on the radio stations that play the same old endless songs....over and over and over.

So many different artists, styles, and sounds can be found out there. Even of the common artists, the rarely played, less popular songs on an album can be more interesting to hear than the same old stuff.

Sometimes I think people forget the world of music is a very long (centuries) and varied subject. Rock music is but a blip in the whole picture.

What it is,is corporations are forcing their corporate schlock down our throats. If someone just only listened to the radio stations for their music,ALL music would SUCK. You're basically letting someone tell you what to listen to. Grab an album by any of the above mentioned bands, skip through it,and you'll hear some mind-blowing stuff!! Especially 45 b-sides. Every decade has amazing music, you just have to dig deep and not listen to the corporate "picked out for you by major record label" garbage. There is literally TONS of awesome current music,BUT you'll never hear it because they don't have the corporate $$ to back them up,so they'll basically be left unheard by the masses.

Grab a Floyd,Zep,Beatles,Petty,Eagles, etc album and start skipping though it. Flip their 45s over and play the b-sides. Prepare yourself to hear GOOD music for a change

Isn't that the truth.

I probably like The Beatles more than the average guy, but my favorite Beatles track is the B-side of Abbey Road. Not just a single or a particular song... the entire B-side. It's an album, designed and structured to be listed to as a whole.

Same thing for Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd is intended to be listed to as an album. Listening to a track like Money on the radio isn't nearly as fulfilling as hearing it in context with the rest of Dark Side.

As a whole, I will always say Abbey Road is a perfect album. However, if someone were to ask me what the best album for introducing someone to The Beatles, I'd say Revolver because it can be enjoyed without listening to the whole thing. That's what most people expect from music. They just need to grow into listening to more than just singles.

Dissent is not hate.

There are just other options many of us prefer to The Beatles.

More times than not, I'll actually SKIP Money when listening to Dark Side.

I've heard it so many times. I'd rather hear Any Color You Like or Great Gig in the Sky. I often just skip right past Money.

Any time a person see's things differently than the status quo....people like to use ridiculous terms to describe them. One of the most used now, is of course the "hate" word.
It basically covers everything, without actually describing anything.

The point of the post was to let Beatle Fans know of some streaming services that are available. But some people have the urge to express there dislike towards the beatles and say Pink Floyd is better etc.
And just for the record I can't stand the Beatles but I do like Paul Mc Cartney but I didn't express my opinion because the post wasn't about who I liked better.

The '80's had a lot of good music....not as depressing as much of todays stuff.

Although I have all of their music in various formats I am glad hear that they will now be able via streaming.

Merry Christmas to all Beatlemaniacs!

^^2nd!! The early 80s had some amazing music. Music seemed experimental again. I remember watching MTV when it first came on the air you'd hear all kinds of awesome stuff the radio would never play. The radio would always play the typical "please the masses and cattle top 40 trash" while MTV would play all that rare unheard new wave stuff that had pure genius and talent.

Remember the very beginnings of MTV? It was really great in those days. All music videos...24/7. None of the silly garbage they put on now. Do they even have videos on MTV anymore?

Yep...MTV was truly fantastic back then. I was in my early twenties and remember the first week it was on. I was really mesmerized that a network would play so many videos, day in, day out.
It was really great. The music and video interpretations were interesting and extremely varied.
I'm glad I got to see that.

Agreed. MT was great for few years, it went down hill mid-late 90's. I didn't watch MTV for more than a decade.
