Battery Terminal Anti-Corrosive

I have not had a issue with Battery Terminals in many years, I do use a tiny bit if Vaseline on my Golf Cart batteries and a tiny bit of Deoxit or Deoxit Pro Gold on my car and motorcycle batteries and have not seen any corrosion on anything in over 20+ years.

Maybe time to replace the battery. I was getting heavy corrosion on the negative post on a 6 year old Interstate. Corrosion came back. After another cleaning I pulled the battery and saw a little bulge on one side. Replaced with Farm & Fleet/East Penn Platinum. No more corrosion. No felt washers or grease. Interstate was a 6 year battery so I got what I paid for.

Yes, any sign of a troubled battery, I would replace it, I have found 4-5 years is what I expect, the bulge would suggest something is wrong.
I'm no expert but my guess is running a old battery IF its damaged may hard the charging system and if the charging system is damaged from a bad battery it will cost lots more than a new battery.

FREE battery testing at ANY auto parts store is a big help...

Remove that 11 year old battery now, keep it as a core, and buy a new battery in the spring. That battery is toast. Baking soda and water paste to clean the corrosion. Then dielectric grease all over the terminal.

We figured this out.
Clear gorilla glue brand epoxy can reseal leaky battery posts for at least several months and will probably last years.

Avoid Exide batteries and you avoid the leakers.

Although with manufacturing moving around (global supply chain) its hard to tell if you will get a well manufactured battery.

At this point I will try and buy East Penn manufactured AGM batteries at Walmart or NAPA.

I never had this issue before. Then I bought a new JD 3025E tractor in 2020. That battery crusted up and leaked really bad, almost to the point of needing a new cable. Ran down the frame and corroded the ground lug. Replaced the battery, neutralized everything, and put in a new battery. I used the felt washers and slathered it up good with dielectric grease. Did that 2 years ago, looks fine so far. It was a shame since the OEM battery was still strong.

Sears battery installers used a colored (red?) spray (CRC) which lasted YEARS.
When I install a battery, I spray the posts, make the connections then spray the clamps' exteriors.
The stuff works and lasts. I'm sure other coatings do too.

Obviously, if the connections are corroded, I clean diligently with baking soda and water and make sure to clean-out all the corrosion.

BONUS: The product's color differs with each production run.
I've had red, green and purple.
