Like I said, I bought the original one 3 years ago, so this is a long term keeper.
Battery replacement under warranty but getting a lesser battery

A battery waraanty is for 4 years. If your battery goes bad in 2.5 years then the supplier is on the hook for another 1.5 years to for fill the terms of the warranty unless the paper work says otherwise. Ed
If you are near the end of warranty I think they would expect the typical battery to drop their CCA already, is it that big of a difference? Will your car not start in the winter because of that?
Maybe it is good enough unless your replacement won't fit or won't start in the winter, it is new afterall and it should last you till the remainder of your warranty.
