I've never had this happen before. The battery in my tractor had the positive post on the right and next to the radiator. Now this one i bought in order to keep the positive terminal on the right, now its farther away towards the grill and the cable won't reach 😭 I thought as long as you got the correct group size youre good? What have I done here? Once again my quest to be cheap and save a buck has failed 🙄

I don’t know I’d have to google that. I always thought that it meant “reversed” which didn’t make a lot of sense, but that’s what I thought it meant.

I added a little bit to my previous reply.
This other diehard i bought has 24-2 and it has the positive post on the right and close to the radiator. Picked up the everystart at Walmart today while i happened to be getting oil and it was cheaper than the diehard and I've had good luck with everstarts. I could make it work, but I'd have to cut cable ties and nicely routed anti chafe rubber, etc. Didn't want to hack up a $30k tractor since its rare for a manufacturer to even cleanly route wires like that nowadays

I'm guessing your old battery is a group 24
The new one is too. I think they just cut the positive cable a tad too short is all. I get they don't give you more positive wire than necessary because they don't want you crossing them, but an inch short is ridiculous

You're kidding, right? Crossing insulated wires has nothing to do with it.

It appears you need cables anyway, so get a set with slightly longer cables; problem solved.

I meant its a group 24 also. Or just install the correct battery which i did and just remember this next time
