Bath fitters/new shower

I am in the middle of doing a hall bathroom as we speak. I went out and bought all of the materials and my contractor is charging me 4k to install.

This is what I am installing and it looks great so far. I chose this model after looking at all of the others, because it does not have any joints that need caulk or on-going maintenance.

My install will include new toilet and vanity and sink and light fixture as well. So far, I feel that I have been treated fairly. All of the materials cost me roughly $1600.00 The floor was tiled about 10 years ago and is still in good shape so I left that as is.

My new Lennar home has this exact same product in both bathrooms. No joints or caulk and easy to clean.

Four years ago we had Bathfitters give us a quote for a bath surround and bath tub liner. $8500 if I remember correctly. I decided to redo the bath myself. Bought an acrylic tub and surround, LVP flooring, new vanity and sink, new tub/shower valve and sink faucet, paint and wallpaper, plus accessories. All tolled came to just shy of $3000. And it took me a very long 4th of July weekend. Saturday was demo and rough in new tub and surround so we could take showers Sunday morning. Sunday was sheet rock and taping. Monday was floor and wallpaper. Also trim and painting trim and ceiling. Tuesday (which was July 4th) was finish up tasks. So 4 days of work gave me a complete remodel instead of just a tub surround. And it cost $5500 less. Just my story
