Bar none - baddest Mustang ever built

Its still got a live rear axle(solid). It won't handle worth a toot. Straight line only. The ROUSH(spelling?) Mustang has 10k worth of suspension upgrades.Independent rear suspension and extreme brake upgrades. The independent rear suspension makes the car.Not just H.P.

Just because it has a live rear axle doesn't necessarily mean it won't handle "worth a toot". I'm guessing they used it to reliably handle 1,400 rear wheel horsepower.

Right! There's been many a live axle car that handled well. Would independent be better? Sure. But by no means will the solid axle mean completely bad handling.

Nice car. Too much money. Too many other premium brands that will run circles around this mustang. Until they update the archaic suspension setup you just have a very expensive car that can't take the corners very well.

For that much cash I'd rather have an R8.

It's too much money as you could build that same combo yourself for roughly $20,000 on top of the cost of the GT500.

But yea, it would completely embarrass an R8...by football fields.

I don't know about that! All the extras Tom Nelson does like the octane on demand system and the craftsmanship, is expensive. You could certainly build a motor without the level of craftsmanship for a lot less though with equal power and performance.

I could get an equal or better 5.4 longblock built for about $10K. I'm pretty sure that octane on demand system is taking advantage of stock Ford electronics, which has a similar feature.

I was just using the Shelby numbers. They charge 100,000 for the mods, you bring the GT500. So around 160,000 turn key.

No doubt, with less extravagance you could get the same numbers for far less. But I'm sure it wouldn't be nearly as streetable as this set up. The adjustable tune and dual fuel systems sound sweet but I'm sure they add a heck of a lot of costs for the sake of streetability and (engine) self preservation.

It's cool, but me thinks it is seriously, severely under-wheeled/tired!!!

That monster should have at least 335/30 18s (if not 345/30 19s!!) at ALL FOUR corners, on the appropriate width wheels, even if it means flairing/bulging/stretching the fenders around them!
