Not that familiar with the chain, but it's been mentioned here a few times.
The Tex-Mex chains I've been to include Chevys, which has a long history beginning in Alameda, California. I think PepsiCo bought them out and tried expanding but then sold them off. But they're almost gone. I used to go regularly to several locations that were near different places where I worked. And sometimes I'd find one on the road that was reliable, like in Reno or on the way to Sacramento. Loved their happy hours, including at one time all-day Sunday where for brunch I had huevos rancheros with a pint of Modelo Negra. Or a location at South Lake Tahoe in the winter.
I guess On the Border used to be a bigger chain. There was one in Silicon Valley and we got lunch paid for by the company once. That was interesting.
Austin-based chain Chuy's is taking the "Tex" out of its "Tex-Mex." The restaurant is moving its headquarters out of its home state after Darden Restaurants Inc., the parent company of restaurant chains including Olive Garden and Ruth's Chris, purchased the popular Austin institution.
