sprintman you are already spending many hours on all of this. My advice is to get an external hard drive and save all of your documents, email, etc., to that external hard drive. When you format your hard drive you will get rid of whatever is there, if there is in fact malware there. Different antivirus programs are giving you different results.

Then reinstall you O/S getting all of the updates and reinstall your applications. And when you reinstall your documents and stuff scan everything. It will take time but you will know that your system is clean.

There is software that makes it possible to make a disk copey of everything. With this you can easily erase your hard drive and reinstall everything easily.

Interesting that Panda found stuff but Nod32 did not. NO32 is very highly rated. And of course there can be false positives. Panda used to be my favorite antivirus. It is a Spanish antivirus (European Union). Some people do not like the current CEO of Panda. Panda is fast. Does not seem to run well in Vista. I guess Microsoft does not currently list it as an acceptable antivirus for Vista.

In addition to the external drive, get imaging software. I'd recommend an Apricorn HD with their EZ Gig II software that is included. It is a stripped down version of Acronis True Image. I have this combo and have reloaded many images without fail. Or, of you want the full features of True Image like incremental backup, then that's an option.

Works great as well for testing software.
