I’m not really concerned about warranty myself since I have 279,000 km on mine. What exactly are the warranty requirements for yours?

And do you have an extended HondaCare or other? What are warranty terms now including power train separate?
USA most are 3 year / 36k miles basic but powertrain is 5 year / 60k miles. My Pilot has extended HondaCare for 8 year / 120k miles.
Here is an excerpt from the OM. Looks like 0w-20 and API seal is the only requirements I see. Again I get the RECOMMENDED wording but I dont want to give them any reason to deny any issues. They have more time and money than I do. ( see attached image )
My car is a 24 so Im going to add the extended warranty here soon.

I never pay for extended warranty on my cars. When I bought it in 2021 I found out that it still had one full year left of the extended warranty that the original owner purchased, however I didn’t need to use it. And here we are 4 years later and I still haven’t spent any money at all on repairs. Honda gave me a new AC condenser in 2021, but that is actually covered by a separate warranty that Honda gives on all 10th gen Civics because of the trouble they have with their AC. It’s a ten year extended warranty.
That was actually for @NattyBoh. Try the ESP x2 0W-20 and get a couple UOA's at longer intervals. Use any one of the Premium Guard filter versions that fits and keep all the receipts. Worst case go by OLM with it.
With 249k kilometers on yours that's definitely gone. Is the 10 year on the AC extended warranty just time or mileage also?
I was never big on extended warranties but I also didn't have many new cars. So far the 3 factory extended warranties I purchased did work out in my favor with different issues. That was on a Toyota Sequoia, Honda Pilot, Jeep Renegade. All the sensors, ECU's, other electronics just add up quickly. Jeep got a new motor due to oil burning, scored cylinders with dealer most oil changes at OLM.
I'm not an anti 0W-20 person just a bunch of my short trip vehicles I prefer a bit higher viscosity based on UOA's. My '17 Accord is currently on it's first round of VRP 0w-20 to see if I can reduce some oil consumption.

There is no mileage limit on it, and when they replace an AC component it starts the clock again with another ten years, so if my condenser fails again before 2031 they will replace it.
SAme. The warranty isnt for the mechanical aspect but the computers and the sensors. You can get cHEAP OEM warranties now online. Many dealers sell them for 100 or so dollars over cost. I got 10 yr, 125k on the Grand Highlander for 2100$ no debatable. Is what it is
Are you sure about the warranty resetting? I've never heard this before.
The way the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act works is that manufacturers can't require you to use their in-house oils to maintain warranty coverage.
But they CAN absolutely make a recommendation as to specs and weights, and then deny warranty coverage if you don't heed that recommendation. So GM can't say you have to use AC Delco oil or lose your warranty coverage, but they can absolutely recommend that you use 0w-20 Dexos 1 gen 3 oil or else lose warranty coverage.
The idea was to prevent manufacturers from holding people hostage to their in-house brands, but still allow them to maintain reasonable warranty coverage requirements through recommendations.
It is NOT a suggestion that can be disregarded during the warranty period, as you imply.

Those are road cars possibly being driven by amateurs for an occasional trackday, not "racecars".
Nope. IMSA professional teams. Not exactly what I consider just a “track day”.

What you shared has no indication of anything IMSA.
And on the Mobil 1 Racing oils page, the closest they come to addressing the topic is this part of the Q&A:

I found the Dexos R page that you screenshotted. It references nothing about IMSA or professional racing usage, however, it does reference track day usage, as I had pointed out was the intention before:

There's a difference between what GM would recommend for the Joe Average Corvette owner that wants to take some hot laps versus what would be formulated for use in endurance racing. Racing oils are always unique to street oils.

I should be down at VIR this August if you’d like to meet and learn what oils are being used by IMSA teams. FS 0w40(below), Supercar, GT C40/ESP 0W40(bottom) among others.
