@NattyBoh. Try the ESP x2 0W-20 and get a couple UOA's at longer intervals. Use any one of the Premium Guard filter versions that fits and keep all the receipts. Worst case go by OLM with it.
With 249k kilometers on yours that's definitely gone. Is the 10 year on the AC extended warranty just time or mileage also?
I was never big on extended warranties but I also didn't have many new cars. So far the 3 factory extended warranties I purchased did work out in my favor with different issues. That was on a Toyota Sequoia, Honda Pilot, Jeep Renegade. All the sensors, ECU's, other electronics just add up quickly. Jeep got a new motor due to oil burning, scored cylinders with dealer most oil changes at OLM.
I'm not an anti 0W-20 person just a bunch of my short trip vehicles I prefer a bit higher viscosity based on UOA's. My '17 Accord is currently on it's first round of VRP 0w-20 to see if I can reduce some oil consumption.
