I put these pads on a car a few years back, and they told me they had a lifetime warrenty. Pads are about gone now.

So does that Warrenty include normal wear? Anyone try getting a new set?

Yeah that's the thing to do

No, it's supposed to be for defects in workmanship only. But some parts monkeys seem to think that lifetime warranty includes wear as well, so it's to your advantage.

WRONG!! Read.....

Limited Warranty

We will replace, or refund your money for, at our option, any part we sell that wears out or breaks under warranty. Your warranty starts on the day you buy the part and expires at the end of warranty period stated on the receipt or when you sell your vehicle - whichever comes first. To obtain a replacement part, visit any AutoZone store or contact AutoZone.com at 1-800-288-6966 to arrange return shipping. Replacement parts are warranted for the remainder of the warranty period or 90 days, whichever is longer. The warranty does not cover defects due to improper installation, other defective parts, low fluid levels, abuse, or commercial, off-road or marine use.

Dang, I guess they do cover it.

Apparently AutoZone does not consider brake wear to be normal.

At first, I thought you were asking about the Duralast Gold lifetime replacement pads -replaced no matter what.

I bought the Performance Friction pads at AZ about 6 years ago for my previous vehicle. At that time they had a Lifetime Warranty same as the Golds.

On a recent check about 6 months ago (see web site), the Performance Friction brand now only has a two year warranty. It cover normal wear out, but only within two years, not lifetime.

To the original poster, it will depend how long ago you bought them and if you are in their computer or have the receipt.

Get them off before they are worn to the backing plate, otherwise your warranty will be denied. Otherwise, they should honor your warranty, as long as you are int he system, or have the reciept.

Most brake warranties I've seen only cover manf defects. If you bring it in and one is wore slightly more than they other they won't honor anything.
