Hi all,
I was looking through listed aviation conferences over the course of this year and I don't remember conferences costing $800,$900 to a grand plus one in Denver is three days so $300ish a day. Not sure about other industry conferences but do those prices seem reasonable? I've been told that networking and meeting other individuals within the aviation industry could help with job contacts.

What is an aviation conference? What topics are discussed?

I work for a company that makes aviation components and systems for various OEM aircraft manufacturers. While the OEM part prices are somewhat reasonable, the airline sales prices are really high. It's a very expensive industry to be part of.

The conference rooms/facilities price have gone up.
Consequently, that price passed on to the conference ticket price.

It is for all type of conferences.

You don’t recall conferences costing $800-1000?!?

Many technical conferences cost that a decade ago!

Unless you get some kind of student or special rate, >$750 for a catered conference has been very normal.

The FAA does put on a good and highly technical conference in Atlantic City NJ every so often for free.

Conferences are another major racket. I have a friend that chaired an IEEE conference not too long ago. The hotel wants room minimums, food minimums, charges an arm and a leg for even simple things like coffee, and then wants a minimum of those too. Everything is nickel and dime, and then even “nonprofit” technical entities want an “ROI”.

Some conferences have trade shows and have great free stuff. I remember going to one in high school, and got all sorts of free stuff.

But yeah, real conferences aren’t cheap to put on or attend…

Can you post a link to that aviation conference ?

Yes, network and get your resume ready for opportunities.

Aviation, anything is off the charts..... It´s been a looooong time since Aunt Bee leaned to fly at Macdonald´s Flying School on the show.....

Yeah there are a few in Denver this year.
Air Forum
The first sounds like a general symposium with a variation of topics.
Smart airports and regions
This one is $200 for a guest and anywhere from $400 to $1350 for the three days.
The $400 isn't bad but I'm not "officially in the Denver " area. Their cancellation policy is fairly strict.

One of the conferences already happened and the other is the Army Nightstalkers which I'm not sure if it's available to the public

The NBAA business aviation convention is a world leader in expense. $2,110 over and above the $775 entry fee for the:

Tax, Regulatory & Risk Management Conference

Seems rather unfair...
