Accumulation of miles has slowed down over the past 2 years, with an average of 7000 miles/year on a 2023 and 1200/year on a 2011. The average time I have owned any vehicle is about 20 years.
23.6 yrs and 156k miles... That's even higher than I'd have guessed. The only thing that doesn't get driven regularly (other than around the woods) is the 87 Samurai.
The '14 E350 has just over 116k miles on it. The '22 X5 has a little over 44k miles on it. That averages out at 80k miles.
If we had done this earlier in the year, before I bought the X5 and sold my Outback, which had 161k miles on it, and the E360 had about 113k miles on it at the time, I would have had a fleet average of 138k miles.
2005 Ford Taurus 120,000 miles
2008 Chevy Suburban 3/4 ton 280,000 miles
Average 200,000 miles. I understand only a very small percentage of vehicles in the “ normal “ population make it to 200,0000 miles.
My vehicles estimates because I don’t know last three of any odometer at this time.
1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle honestly don’t know because I’m not sure how many times the odometer has rolled over but it’s currently saying 65,000 so that’s what I’ll go with.
