Aux Trans Cooler , Supply or Return lines?

I was reading instructions for installing auxiliary transmission coolers, they all say to install after the Stock cooler on the return line.

Why would the supply line not be preferred ? It will still remove heat from the system and if it overcools it will get warmed up through the stock cooler. Leading to a more reliable install?

Because it will likely get warmed up again going through the radiator. Going after the radiator allows it to actually cool the fluid the transmission is recieving.

Exactly. How it should go is
1. Into the radiator transmission cooler
2. Out of the radiator transmission cooler
3. Into the auxiliary transmission cooler
4. Out of the auxiliary transmission cooler
5. Back into the transmission
