Autozone Clearance Oil

I stopped by my AZ and they had some oil on clearance. I offered $2/quart for the whole lot of 80qt bottles and three 5qt jugs. Most of it was NextGen. This particular AZ wouldn't go lower than $2/quart but I'm not going to complain for a $10 + filter oil change.

The manager told me they are still clearing out oil from warehouses so keep an eye out for any clearance oils.

I got some interesting looks at checkout

Also I thought I saw a PQIA on the NextGens, does anyone have more info on this? Thanks in advance.

If you didn't get 5w20 you don't have to worry about the advisory. 5w30s and 10w30s meet NOACK specs much easier.

The PQIA alert was on the NextGen 5W-20 for high NOACK. There are no known spec issues with any other grades, AFAIK.

I would have bit on the QSUD, NG ML, and maybe on the PYB, not so sure about the others.

I was on the fence about the NextGens as well.

I will most likely use 2qts of NextGens with a 5qt jug of something else.

$1/qt for PU ! Awesome !

The AZ near me probably hasn't carried PU for well over a year.

AZ usually gets their deliveries on Tuesday mornings so you may want to check back tommorow for more oil. See if you can stock up even more.

Even though the NOACK is high on the 5W-20, I wouldn't be that worried about it on a daily driver.

My AZ had m1 5w-20HM and Motorcraft 5w30 blend both at $3/qt a month ago. I bought all the M1 of course. Today they had the Motorcraft for $4.40/qt on the "clearance rack", they also had a bunch of Next gen for the same price. I asked if that was really the clearance price and they assured me it was. I guess at $1 then $3 the stuff was selling too fast? They also had Next gen 5qt for $20/conv and $25/syn, I think someone screwed up?
