I have a 2008 VW Passat 2.0t fsi. At 120,000 I had the dreaded low oil pressure light,I immediately shut it down and had it towed home. Upon inspection I found quite a bit of sludge in oil pan and pick up screen was 90% clogged. So after scraping pan and brake cleaning the pick up tube I ordered what I've read is "the holy grail" of sludge solvents. After running recommended cycles, the oil that drained was dark but not as dark as expected. So after rinse cycle still not pulling out varnish and sludge from top end. So I started running Rotella T6 with rislone under 1500 mile intervals, surprisingly after the first change oil was pitch black. Upon the 3rd interval It was starting to clear up a little. 4th interval I noticed I had zero oil burning (was burning 1/2 a quart per 1500 miles), so I decided to pull valve cover and saw zero varnish, zero sludge in cam chain tensioner area! I swear by rislone and will run a bottle every other oil change. I also found a good combo to run between those as well, rotella T6 with the small bottle of Lucas' assembly lube for added protection. I now have 140,000 miles and my 2.0t is running smooth, quiet, and has plenty of punch. I've also noticed my spooling is quicker and more consistent boost pressure. Hope I don't get too much flack for going against what a lot of people here deem the greatest sludge cleaner ever.
