Known fact.

But if the shift points, firmness, and rate is altered because of software programming to increase warm-up rate and ease stress, changing fluid still makes no difference to the behavior and can possibly have negative effects elsewhere. And the apparent fragility of Honda automatic transmissions is another reason to stick with a recommended fluid. You may well NEED that warranty.

I ran Amsoil starting at 30k on a 100k extended warranty. At 207k, it shifts just fine.

Anyone used Synthetic or specifically Amsoil in a Honda transmission for a lot of years and miles? Is the thing about using Honda only ATF just marketing or is there anything to it? I would probably wait until I am past the warranty to switch which will be in 2000 miles.



I have been using Amsoil ATF since 120,000 miles. Now with close to 286,000 miles, It provides good shifting, runs cooler....no issues.
