i just changed 8- autolite5224 plugs on my dad's 1991 Mercury Colony Park wagon. last time, dealer did it in 2005 so it was time. passenger side was tough-had to use ratchet/socket extensions. car starts right up, purrs like a kitten, these seme like good plugs.

I got a set of xp in the 5224 model for our VW. I was bummed to see that they were made in Mexico. Will likely return them because of that, despite rebates and all.

Glad that they are keeping the wagon running strong!

I have always had good luck with Autolite plugs. They are long lasting for basic, non platinun jobs.My old 1955 tractor hates Champions (they seem to foul out and skip),but loves Autolites (2-3 years at a time with them.

I just got a dozen Bosch Platinum PLUS plugs made in Germany for only 30 cents a piece after rebate!

I've gotten good results with the new Autolite plugs even though they are made in Mexico. I would bet that Champion and AC plugs come from Mexico too.

[censored] , I'll bet a lot of them come from China !!

Try to find an old school parts store and have them look to see if they have any old stock behind the new stock to see if they have any USA made. I did that on my last change.

I have some older ones made in USA I'd sell you.

The Champion Platinum plugs for my truck are made in USA, but their quality looks like it was made in China. The bent grounding piece was welded on crooked on all my plugs and one wasn't even over the center electrode.

I wonder if they could be fake parts. There is a lot of this going on in the aftermarket. Although it isn't talked about much.

Nothing wrong with most made in Mexico , my 07 Fusion was made there and is well built and many other Fusion owners will agree . If the quality control is watched by the parent company then I see no reason for concern .

Yeah lots of Fords have come out of Hermosillo's Ford plant over the years and been nice cars. The Fusion sport is a fun ride made there.
