I like to run hot water over the bottle before pouring. It thins nicely when warmed.

Yep. I let my bottle sit in a bath of 130 deg F water for an hour or so before pouring it in. Several times during one hour soak, I'll shake the heck out of the bottle for 30 sec or so. If I don't do this and just leave it at room temperature, the stuff pours OK, but it's full of gold colored crystals.

The first bottle of ARX I used had the same problem. Cold, thick and clumpy. I didn't heat it up enough. The second one I did heat up and shook it really good. Poured smooth.
I was wondering the same thing. Just for a test, I heated some ARX in another oil up to 300F, and the 2 mixed just fine. It's been about 1 week and the two are still together (but dark).

I always keep Auto-RX in the house but stored where it will stay warm and there is no danger of anybody (like a child) getting hold of one of the bottles.
I never had a problem with it not flowing well unless I left it in a cold garage. If the bottle was somewhat cold I let hot water flow on the bottle.

I always take my vehicles for a run to get the oil hot before changing to get the most crud out. Now that it is winter put the bottle up on the dash turn the defrost on high drive around like that for 15-20 min it will be very liquid. In the summer just leave it in a closed up car on a hot sunny day same thing.
It seems to have mixed from what I can see. Here is a coincidence, I changed the oil, added Auto-Rx (chunky and all), the next day I am showing intermittant 0PSI oil pressure. I panic, just about to drain the pan (Auto-Rx must be the culprit right?), I change the sending unit - oil pressure back. Also the ticking has almost dissapearred in 500 miles on the cleaning phase.
Please read the FAQ certainly it will mix. You bought the only product that works as advertised. All we ask you is to follow the application.
I always add ARX to a warmed up motor. I also warm up the highly concentrated ARX before adding it to the crankcase.
After installing into the crankcase, I always drive a few miles to assure that the ARX disperses homogenously into the motor oil. By this method I have never seen any effect on pour points of the host oil, even in the winter months of New England. I think if you were able to look at many of the concentrated additives that get blended into a fully formulated motor oil, you would see the same thing.

What happens when this additive is in your crankcase, sitting outside during winter? I wouldnt add anything that gels or clumps in cold weather in any motor...ever.
Even if the manufacture claims the oil disperses the additive, its not worth the risk IMHO. Why put a known agent that gells under 68f into a motor?

I would suggest that you get a cold one tonight at home & spend a few hours reading through some of Molakule's & Terry's old posts regarding ARX. There really is a lot of good information that's been spilled here.
Once it's added & mixed with the host oil, it won't come out of solution and gel.

Probably unintended but it blows my mind that Autodarken did not do a search of the past 5 or 6 years of ad nauseam commentary here about RX.
There is so much stored GOLD at this site the premature judgers will never get it. Part of the problem is about 80% of the posts here need to be deleted to allow the science based commentary to rise back up. THE ORIGINAL GOAL OF BOBS SITE.
