Hey guys im giving auto-rx a run in my tacoma this summer just to try something new...anyway if i do notice alittle improvement mainly in gas milage (she runs like a top, just tring to improve her alittle more if i can) i would like to do maintence doses after that with Castrol GTX for the same interval that i was running synthetic. Is dino and Auto Rx safe to run for that interval?

5000-7500 is what it recommends...i guess im still iffy when it comes to that interval with conventional oil. The only thing to do is run it for that long and do an analysis.

Well, it may be apples to oranges, but my CR-V calls for the 7k intervals and although I seldom go that long, I have plenty of times. I've not noticed any issues. I'd think as long as it's Castrol and you spike it with arx, you'd be good to go. At the very least, I'm pretty confident it'd go 5k no problems.

If you want to run the 7000 mile range, with a maintenance dose, I would suggest a group III such as PP. A used oil analysis over at the ARX site on a Ford Explorer running this combo yielded excellent wear numbers, even with the Ford V-6 suffering from a high rate of fuel dilution.
Other factors that should be considered are the time frame for the 5000-7500 mile OCI. Alot of highway miles and a relatively short time duration is much easier on the host oil, when compared to short operational runs over a much longer period of time.

I'm getting ready to do 7,500mi OCIs on Motorcraft 5w20 & Auto-RX maintenance dose. We shall see how it does! Wish me luck.
