No. They work very slowly, 500 miles or so, to gradually liquify sludge and varnish in your engine, transmission, power steering, etc.

I have been told by many people (particularly mechanics) that the engines flushes are bad for sludged up engines because the sludge breaks loose and drains into the pan and clogs the pickup screen on the oil pump. Does auto RX or Neutra cause the same effect?

Auto-Rx is not a flush or a purge type solvent based product. Rather it's a metal cleaning compound made from natural ingredients while it works over mileage driven, it also works on ratio's depending upon viscosity index of host oil.Auto-Rx does not change any property or chemistry of your host oil.

The viscosity ratings of all engine oil will always call for a ratio of 2 ounces of Auto-Rx per quart of oil. All gear oil will be 2 ounces per quart of oil.Automatic Transmission Fluid has a viscosity rating of ISO 68 and is a hydraulic oil (very thin)and the ratio for this oil is 6 ounces only of Auto-Rx. Power Steering Fluid is same base oil as automatic transmission fluid and because of small amount of fluid 1 ounce of Auto-Rx is sufficent.Manual transmission is 1 ounce of Auto-Rx per quart of transmission oil. Each of these applications call for different mileage
