I am going to use Auto-RX on my brothers 96 Acura Integra auto transmission with about 130,000 miles on it. It is in bad need of an ATF change and I was going to suggest he add some Auto-RX, drive it around then get it flushed by a shop with Honda ATF. Now his transmission does not have a filter so would it still be safe to use Auto-RX? Would the sludge or whatever else Auto-RX would clean up start circulating through the transmission system and clog the valves and whatnot? Also how long would you suggest I run the Auto-RX for before getting the flush?

I just finished running the ARX through my transmission 87 Accord auto. No problem what so ever. I was having a problem with "shifting flair" when cold. The problem is gone now. HTH

Did you flush the fluid afterwards? I'm thinking the flush after the Auto-RX would be rather important. Also does Auto-RX work well with Honda ATF as I think it is a synthetic oil. Also would it be advisable to flush now and then do the auto-rx and leave it in until the next ATF change? I'm not sure how overdue the transmission fluid is.

I flushed it with honda atf. My brother is the service manager at a local dealership and has a trans flush machine, hooked it up filled it w/the atf and let it run. Deffinate difference, sorry it took so long to get back to you.
