On the 0% oxidation. Several of the analysis I've seen involving M1 0W40 have had this result, and this one is confirmation of the previous analysis of the same oil, so I have to say, it's not an anomaly.

Not cold by your standards,

but cold to me.

Shaeffers always has 0% for the oxidation.

Hard to tell what is going on because of the AutoRx. But I would check the intake/air filter.

This is probably a worst case scenario as the oil was pretty contaminated to begin with, and I'd guess the filter was probably clogged as well.

Interesting results to say the least...

I'm getting pretty close to oil change time for the follow up Mobil Drive Clean 5W30. I am interested in what that will show.

The 0W40 is the only one I've had so far with a 0%.

I've got 3k on the Mobil drive clean. Guess I'll pull a sample sometime.

Vadar,

The iron and lead levels in this last analysis are very high ...your chrome level as also doubled, which leads me to suspect a leak in the intake system. I'd take a careful look at all the intake plumbing downsteam from the air filter as well as examine the air filter housing.

It looks at first glance like you are grinding this engine apart.

Vader,

Why go down to a dino 5W30 when your wear metals seem dangerously high? I wouldn't go lower than a 10W30 on 3-4k intervals with those results.

Is there an intake problem that is raising the silicon levels?

The moly levels are elevated becuase your ring wear is way up.

Wow I did not notice that part

. M1 does not have that much moly! I was going to comment on the AF earlier as well, seemed like it was Si causing problems. Didn't you just switch AF to some foam one? If all the possible leak paths are ok, I'd get that sucker out, ASAP. Is it supposed to be oiled? Was it preoiled if so? Your engine is being internally sandblasted!!

The foam filter was not in place for this interval. The majority of this interval was using a Purolator filter and no indication of a filter leak was apparent. I spent some time this weekend looking for other places where a leak could be present and was unsuccessful.

I went to dino oil because that is recommended after an Auto-RX treatment.

As I said before, I need another analysis to see if this trend continues.
