Auto ins just doubled!

THAT'S the regulation? Lol! I wonder if they ever disapprove a rate increase? Sounds like the regulators for the electric cos...
Yes they have declined rate increases and they do more like set coverage minimums and field complaints. Why don't you know this?

The NC Insurance commissioners office got USAA to fix my mothers premium because they refused to acknowledge her house was significantly closer to a different fire station.

We all know that insurance is a legalized numbers racket. In other news the tides go in and the tides go out..............
Like the lotteries the states run , that's by choice of course . But it seems like the poor people love to play .

Not sure what you mean here? Are you referring them to be uninsured?

I had Halogens on my 2020 F-150. Easily the worst headlights I have ever had on a vehicle. This was a common complaint.
The halogens on my Fiesta were aftermarket brand name models, Lucas maybe. They were much brighter than the seal beam incandescent bulb headlights of the period.

I don't remember them having replaceable bulbs. I think you replaced the whole headlight unit if it broke. Not cheap but not very expensive either. Something like $20 - $30.

We have it on autopay. Just got a surprise as it's doubled since last month.

2 drivers in their 50's. No tickets or accidents, no glass replacement etc,

The FJ has full coverage. The rest are min required.

Don't see how that's legal. Now I somehow have to scroung up more $$$.

I would suggest calling your agent, and finding out why your insurance premium doubled.

Just as insurance is over seen by the state so are the lotteries , both government rackets

That's true. But you have the ability to shop around....and rates do vary dramatically. And you can insure yourself for a level that you are comfortable with-in regards to protecting your assets.
There are choices-what is not a (smart) choice is deciding to do without.

How would I know this? And the commission has never declined any of my rate increases that I'm aware of (since they go up at every policy renewal)...

If they spied on me they would think I'm a 90-year-old guy with a heart condition. Who likes donut shops .
I would charge many 90 year olds a lot for auto insurance.

I live in an area where these people "drive". No need to stop at stop signs, why signal when I always turn here, loafing in the acceleration lane, driving 20 MPH slower than traffic, making a u-turn on the same side of a divided 4 lane highway, etc.

I do 5 over , everyone else drives like they are actually having a heart attack.

Dealing with my broker and Progressive is becoming increasingly difficult for auto, home and umbrella. The amount of bonehead errors, the premium bills emails but no policy or changes sent, then a late notice after paying. The agent telling me that our set-up is for the home premium to be paid by our home loan lender (it has never been that way)......they send notices to the lender! Holy cow.

I'm shopping today.

Here if you do 5 over, you'll get run off the road...
If people can't manage their time or get their butt out of bed on time is no concern to me . If someone tries to use a vehicle to harm me because I won't do 20 over the limit they have a disorder the courts can handle .
