Hello,

I been looking for any details someone may have

As the factory oil is a 75w
But hoping run Moly Top Tec MTF 5300 70w-75 (site recommend recommended) which is lighter and may up the gear noise and worries me I may have wear issues

Or Motul gear power EF 75w closer to stock

Thoughts or knowledge please
Thank you

So long as that is a manual transmission, I strongly suggest Redline gear oils. I've used Redline oil in a couple different manual gearboxes, my E46 BMW being the latest.

Verify on your own first, but the Redline website recommends MT-90 for your car. Of note, they offer lighter grades too, MT-85 and MT-80. I run MT-85 in my E46.

IMO, Redline's gear oils are their finest product.

Funny I took redline out since shifted like butt with 90 and 80

Started with mt90 which always my go 2 hot most transmission Then mt80 and still have cold weather and at stop light shifting issues

Are you sure? AFAIK your MQ500 use G 052 527 which is either 75W or 70W-75 GL-4
MTF (refer to its SDS). 27.6 mm²/s at 40 °C, 6.1 mm²/s at 100 °C, as light as it gets. And
same MTF as MQ350 transmission (GTI, GLI, S3, R etc.).

Not surprising. Double the weight will inevitably cause shifting issues especially when cold.
The only slightly thicker MTF I found to work perfecly on my MQ350 is Castrol Transmax
Manual V 75W-80 (formerly Syntrans V-FE 75W-80). Castrol recommends it for G 052 527
applications. Its only disadvantage: While easily to get in Europe, but very hard to obtain in
the US.
I didn't try LM Top-Tec MTF 5300 70W-75W so far but it might be another good candidate
worth trying. A shade thinner compared to G 052 527, but negligible. 31 and 5.9 mm²/s.
