Been using the Syntec 0W-30 (made in Germany) in my '06 Audi A6 3.2 & A4 2.0T for several years w/ no problems. On Castrol's site it recommends the EDGE 5W-40 w/ SPT (USA). The newly named EDGE, formerly Syntec, has the BMW, Mercedes & VW spec. labeling on the front of the bottle, the Syntec says European Formula. Which is the better choice for my (out of warranty) Audis, or is the M1 0-40 just as good or better?? These are the specs for the 2 Castrols:
