Atkinson or Miller cycle engines and carbon buildup

Honda's CRV hybrid is DI with an Atkinson cycle engine. Some of Mazdas are DI but Miller cycle. The question is: Are these engines less likely to build up deposits on intake valves since the valves remain open for a short time in the compression stroke, forcing air/fuel mixture back into the intake manifold?

I would guess they aren't injecting fuel until the intake valves are closing while running in the Atkinson or Miller cycle modes.
