Some of the Honda lubricants at our shop (ATF-Z1 and VTM-4, specifically) now have Acura specific labeling as opposed to the old Honda labeling. I assume that the Honda dealers fluid labeling remains unchanged.
Anyway, the new labels say 'Manufactured by Idemitsu". I tried getting some more info on these fluids but no luck. I guess the composistion of ATF-Z1 will remain a mystery, however this may be a start.
I did find out that this company is the leading manufacturer for Japanese OEM fluids. They also supply 70 percent of the worlds PAG oil for R-134a air conditioning systems.
They also make a synthetic motor oil for both 4-stroke and rotary engines that is sold in the US. I did a search of BITOG and didnt find any UOA's but would be interested to see one.
