Anti-smuggling laws will be enforced by the B.ATF.A.T.F.

I always wondered why there is a B.A.T.F

I think in the coming days we will hear more.

hehe, that is good.

This issue IMO brings us back to the whole reason there are no Amsoil distribution centers in CA. Too much red tape.

ATF Orders Temporarily Suspended In California
Due to a labeling issue, AMSOIL INC. is temporarily suspending orders for shipment of AMSOIL Automatic Transmission Fluid (product code ATF) quarts and gallons to California. Newly relabeled packaging will be available for shipment to California within 45 days. While shipment of ATF quarts and gallons has been suspended, customers may, in the meantime, continue to order AMSOIL ATF in 16 gallon kegs, 30 and 55 gallon drums and 275 gallon totes.

Label, Label, Label on container must be correct per California Law.

Multi-Vehicle instead of Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid, something along those lines

That makes sense.

AMSOIL ATF Q & A:

Q1: Why were ATF sales suspended in California?

A1: This is a labeling issue. The State of California has specific requirements strictly enforcing the OEM’s viscosity requirements for their specification.

Q2: Is there an issue of quality or performance?

A2: No, AMSOIL ATF is the same high quality formulation and has not changed.

Q3: Can I still sell ATF I now have on my shelf in CA?

A3: Yes, however reference to DEXRON VI, Chrysler ATF thru ATF+4 and MERCON SP must be blacked out on the front and back of the label.

Q4: Can I return the product if I don’t want to modify the labels?

A4: Yes the product can be returned to the Las Vegas or Portland distribution center for a full refund (product cost, tax and freight) in the form of credit or a check.

Q5: Can I sell ATF for vehicles requiring DEXRON VI, Chrysler ATF thru ATF+4 and MERCON SP?

A5: While it has been determined that AMSOIL ATF is not properly labeled in regard to those manufacturers’ specifications, this product is compatible and AMSOIL strongly recommends its use. As mentioned in Question 3, the existing label must be altered before any sale.

Q6: I am currently using AMSOIL ATF in my vehicle. Can I continue to use it?

A6: Yes, this is a label issue, not a performance issue. You can expect the same high quality AMSOIL ATF performance as always.

Q7: What is AMSOIL INC. going to do to resolve this labeling issue?

A7: AMSOIL INC. will complete the label redesign, for the current AMSOIL ATF product, within 45 days. AMSOIL INC. will also be releasing a new automatic transmission fluid of lower viscosity in the coming months.

Q8: Can I order larger sizes (16‐gallon kegs, 30 and 55 gallon drums or 275‐gallon totes)?

A8: Yes, these products can be purchased from the Portland or Las Vegas distribution centers with labels that are compliant with Califonia law.

In a nutshell, Amsoil...at least in California, can't say that the ATF will meet DEXRON VI, Chrysler ATF thru ATF+4 and MERCON SP all packaged in one bottle? because of viscosity only? or because of formulations?

And/But Amsoil still say's it will work, but if they want to do business in California....they must meet the labeling law?

Welcome to doing business in the Peoples republic of Kalifornia...

No wonder they are bankrupt.

Businesses and people leaving left and right. Coming to other states and then screwing them over.

If I hear another "where I came from they did it this way" from a transplant....

I'm sure I can find 12 people to find me innocent.

I think it is because they don't have all the tests that the "state" requires done to their special law.

With their Gov getting the new smog / fuel laws done there will very little cars sold in the state. They can all take pubilc transportation.
