Atf+4 in an 01 C3

Hey guys.

Anyone know if I can use dodge fluid in a Chevy. I bought umpteen gallons of the stuff on sale,real cheap,and I'm hoping it'll work for the chev.

If not no biggie,I'll go buy dex but from what I understand the ATF+4 is way better that the dex I'm supposed to use in this truck.

Any real ideas are appreciated

I have run a 50/50mix of ATF 4 and max life with no problems. It is a 2001 gmc 1500 the fluid has about 4 years or more on it. My mechanic figured a synthetic was good for the tranny,better than old fluid.

Good to know. I ended up buying some dex 4 but I'm doing drain and fills weekly just to insure that the tranny is ready to tow this summer.

The ATF+4 friction modifiers aren't correct for DexronIII applications. I wouldn't use it.
