Well i have a brake job coming up soon, new rotors and pads. I'm going to flush the old fluid out as well, it's about two years old and needs to be replaced. I can't decide on which flavor of brake fluid to go with. ATE SL.6 is thinner and marketed towards ABS / ESP applications whereas type 200 and super blue are "regular" dot 4 fluids. My truck does have ABS but has always worked fine with regular brake fluid. Both flavors are the same price.

I also have a 2008 honda accord with ESP and ABS, and i would like to flush the brakes in it as well. It would be nice to have one fluid for both instead of keeping two separate ones around.

Thoughts? I guess my mind is telling me that if the SL.6 is better, why doesn't everyone use it? (over super blue or type 200 in abs applications)

I am using the Pentosin equivalent of the SL6 in my car and mom's car which both use ABS, but neither of us have had to use it.

I would just use the low viscosity fluid in everything since it seems wet and dry boiling points are very good.

I think the real reason people are not using the new stuff is because they are familiar with the old stuff, plus Blue brake fluid is a nice feature to tell you when you have done your job correctly.

Have you noticed any other differences with the low viscosity fluid?

Im running the SL.6 in my Vic. Im going to put it in the Fusion too as soon as I get around to getting the correct cap adapter for my Motive.
My previous fluid was Amsoil DOT3 which is about halfway between Typ 200 and SL.6 as far as viscosity. So I don't think I noticed that much of a difference though it is there.
