Does it make a big difference? OEM size of 1996 buick roadmaster is 235/70/15.

I have a bad tire on the front driver side and I need a new one. I understand you have to have 2 of the same tires on each axle, therefore, am planning to buy 2 new ones for the front.

Problem is that 235/70/15 is nearly impossible to find especially with white sidewalls yet 235/75/15 is easily available. I am on a budget and not looking to spend more than $80 per tire, therefore, no Vogue's. I found Hankook H724 and Cooper Trendsetter SE both in 235/75/15 with white sidewalls for $75 each.

Is it a big difference to go from 70 to 75? Should I not do that and stick with oem?

Would it be ok to have 2 235/75/15 tires in the front and keep the 235/70/15 tires in the back?

I'd buy the pair of 75s but stick 'em on the rear.

If you have ABS this could be a problem.

is that a bad thing?

i had a bad experience going narrower once and said never again. Went from 225 to 215 in the town car. Even though it was aligned the tires would wear unevenly- more on the outside.

I have a '96 Roadmaster Wagon which came originally with 225/75R15 tires. They are very difficult to find and what you do find is nothing special. For my winter tires I run Blizzak's in size 235/75R15, they fit fine and work fine. They might rub just a little more than the original sized tires did. The originals rubbed on the fronts when turning very sharp also.

In the summer I run 235/65R17 tires on aftermarket rims. They are about the same diameter as the 235/75R15 tires. If you like what is available in the 235/75R15 size, go for it.

As for the ABS thing if you have uneven size tires the system might think there's a problem.

Enjoy the 235 75s, Put them on back. I have 2 different set s of them on the Rat.It raises Cain with different sizes on pavement.Off road is OK. 4wd, but is fine in 2wd. On that boat, it will probably improve the ride.

Most cars look better with the tail slightly higher than the nose. It doesn't hurt to have more rubber on the back. I've had some odd size combos briefly on my Camrys with ABS, with 4 of them there is some occasional very short term swapping, and the worst that's happened is the ABS warning lamp lighting, and going off when the tires were matched again.

I put taller tires on my '97 Ford Taurus SHO one time. It raised the back about a 1/2" and gave the car a nice raked look. It also would run out of gas at an 1/8 of a tank if on an incline.
