There are few choices in the stock size.

Looking to replace Goodyear Wrangler RT/S OWL (Outlined White Lettering).
I'm not interested in the OWL, should such tires be original to the truck.
I feel sidewall decorations are vulnerable.

245-75-16, a more populated size, is very close in dimension with differences below an inch.
The speedo difference, an increase, is also negligible.
I'll be looking for tires which are more highway than 'off-road' capable.
Knobby, loud tires are not what I want.
"Sturdy highway tire" is where I want to be.
A "softer / cushy" automobile ride is not what I want.

What tire brands and models have served any of you well in a pickup used mostly for street/highway driving?

TIA

I had Firestone Destination LE 2's on my 2003 Ranger XLT which were decent tires. However, it was a nice upgrade when I replaced them with Kumho Crugen HT-51's which are virtual clones of the Michelin M/S2 tire. My driving is 99% on-road/highway.

There are plenty of options in the stock size 255/70-16 :)

It sounds like you want an HT tire, such as
Cooper Evolution HT2
Toyo Open Country HT II
one of the General Grabber HT tires (they have a few)
Kumho Crugen HT51
Nokian One HT

Yup, an HT tire is what you looking for. There are so many brands and even more opinions on which is best. When I was in the market I was looking for a major brand HT that was on sale. There were many brands that were very similar if not the same in price so I just picked the one I wanted to try and it was Bridgestone Dueler 684ii and it rides exactly as its description, looks basic, boring and non aggressive. I have a 2nd set of wheels with KO2s on them for when I want aggressive.

So determine your budget, list all the brands within that budget, then decide which one you want to try.
