FP60 (1oz/5gal) LC20 (1oz/qt and 2oz/2000mi). Honda air filter. AMSOIL oil filter. Last time I had an analysis someone suggested I have an air leak. I changed the air filter but I can not find any leaks. I tried to make sure everything is tight. Not sure what else to do.

I am thinking to wait until summer to change the oil. Comments?

TBN is kind of low to make it through the winter to summer. Everything else looks fine.

The TBN is low by OAI standards, I think there's something wrong with their equipment...or they just changed testing methods.

Honda engine spewing copper...I understand that is common. But, the increasing Silicon is troubling...you may have an air leak somewhere!

You can see that the mileage was the same or higher in the previoius samples, while the TBN for this run was lower. I agree with the Critic here. It's clear that either Amsoil changed their TBN method to B/S's or their calibration is off. I believe they might have changed the method.

Or OAI may have changed there protocol. Lately any Oxid over 30 and TBN over 3 is showing abnormal?

Pablo, I hope you can gently nudge Amsoil on this question too....the TBN's in the 5 to 10 K range are showing under 4 in the general since and a little disturbing.

When did you change the oil? I guess no analysis when the oil was changed? I agree that you need to hunt about for an air leak. In a Toyota I found the air temp sender had popped out and so there was a 1/2" for unfiltered air to enter the housing (after the filter). In a Suburban I found a gasket missing from a spacer attached to the TBI. So look at anything/everything from air filter to manifold, loose connections, cracks in rubber or plastic hoses, sensors popped out, etc.

I have look for loose parts/missing parts, cracks, etc and everything looks good. I am not sure where to look next.

Yep, I'd change the oil now. TBN won't make it through the winter.

If you can't find any air leaks, don't worry about it. It doesn't seem to be causing wear.
