on the ARX site, it says to add a full 12 ounce bottle to 5 quarts of oil and the filter. Since my car takes roughly 6 quarts, can i just add a bottle in, and leave it in longer?

You can just add the bottle and use it for the normal amount of miles to do the clean. The 12 ounces seem to work best on the 4-6 quart systems. In fact I only used one bottle on a 7 quart system with great results.

Also, what's the difference between the leaking seal instructions and the regular one? my engine occasionalli leaks oil from the real main seal.

It's on their web site. Basically, two cycles of RX and from the first rinse cycle it must be dino oil, no synthetics. First clean cycle can by synthetic. So, clean 1500 miles ,rinse 2000, clean 1500 rinse 2000. Will take 7000 miles to complete it.

cool, i bought a SuperTech and a Purolator filter for the first two cycles, OEM Toyota after that.

I have read a fair amount on the auto rx on this site. What I don't understand is the dino oil being used for most of the treatment.

If the seals etc are all conditioned by the auto rx and dino oil.
Will I then be OK afterwords switching back to a full syn after treatment.

Or will the seals become unconditioned again?

Thanks

This topic has been discussed before here, but it's a chemical thing called "ester competition." The dino oil doesn't have esters that have to compete with the esters in ARX. Synthetic is ok, it just takes longer to clean and condition.

Are the esters only in PAO oils, Mobil 1, Amsoil, or ester based oils like Redline? And also maybe some in the "high mileage" oils?

No esters in Group III "synthetic" or in dino/PAO blends are there?

Most of the esters in the latter would be from additive packs, which are inconsequential because they would be at such low levels.

i got my ARX! I have 400 miles left on my existing oil change cycle, should i wait then to do the first cycle?

Because of the type of driving I do I would like to use the best oil I can that is the most compatible with the Auto RX. I drive stop and go to work about 10 miles away.

I believe the XL 7500 6 mth oils be OK with the auto RX, group III right?
I want the best protection I can get for my stop and go driving while running the Auto RX.
It is going to take me awile to run the Auto RX.
Thanks
