Doing my oil change very soon. Last time begining June ,98 LeSabre 4.5 quart capacity oil..I added one small bottle of rislone . 16.9 ozs. From what I've seen few times now, the dipstick shows overfilled..quit a bit. Hot and cold.
The instructions are add one bottle to 4 to 6 quarts oil. Should I put 4 quarts oil in and the 16.9 oz bottle rislone? That should maKe level 4.5. or should I put 4.5 oil and 4.5 quart amount measured out of rislone?

Add it with confidence. On most engines being .5-1qt overfilled is not an issue at all, As a matter of fact - such overfill is often practiced in motorsports to avoid oil starvation. Only at 1qt+ does it reach the crankshaft and may start causing oil foaming issues. But in your case (or really every case where oil isn't overfilled to begin with)- that 16.9oz is well within the safety cushion and won't cause any issues. It will however provide good level of cleaning where it's needed. Thankfully there is lots of proof of its great performance showing up on BITOG recently through cut open oil filters.

Well the rislone is making my oil half quart overfill.that coul foul plugs up. I'm gunna put 4.6 quarts, and from the 16.9 ozs gunna measure out the ratio of rislone and add it. Because rislone advertises it's for 4 to 6 quarts. Some measure out 2.75 ozs per quart oil add it.
My first thought was not to add half quart of oil...but oil more important .

Add the entire bottle of Rislone to empty crank case then begin adding new oil taking dip stick readings often until you are at the F mark on the dip stick . You will have oil left over which you can use to top off with later or save for a future oil change .

If you want to be more accurate, put 4qts and then Rislone. Or 4.5qts and then the Rislone, it will not be overfilled at a detrimental rate. I've had many 90's GMs and have always done 5qt oil changes and have always been at the full or just, just above it. Never any issues, don't overthink it and run it.

Changed oil/filter today in daughter’s 2017 Audi S3 2.0 TFSI. 4,300 kms (2,700 miles). Ran 2 bottles Rislone 4102 in 5W-30/5W-40 mix. Usual dirty caramel Rislone mess and surprisingly bad filiter. It certainly did its job. Engine now nearly silent and a noticeable improvement in compression/engine braking. 2 bottles in again and hope to run 5-6,000 kms this time.

If your crankcase capacity is 5 quarts you should use 4.5 qts. of oil and the bottle of Rislone (which would make your total .9 of an ounce over the recommended capacity which is negligible) If your crankcase capacity is 4.5 quarts just add 4 qts. oil and the bottle of Rislone. While I agree that .5 quart overfilled won’t harm anything I’d use the Rislone at the time of an oil change and substitute it for a half quart of oil.
