I found an older VOA here but not a lot of info other than that. Was in my local jobber the other day and saw the 5/40 product on the shelf. He says he started to stock it for the VW owners as their warranty dictates its usage. Apparently this stuff is color coded so that the techs know whether or not it is in the crankcase. While I was there I priced out their "Evolution SXR 5W30" at $45.00 per 5L jug. Not a lot of money and I like the 5L packaging. Might be worth a try in my 06 4.7L Toyota.

Given that even green German Castrol 0W-30 darkens to the point it's no longer visibly green after a short time in use, this color coding notion as proof of use seems specious.
