So what say the Bittogers? Are the lack in inventory issues done with? Are the extra charges a thing of the past? I’ve seen lots of 0% financing and no mention of the dealer add-on prices. Would you be prepared to buy and finance again?

There are always those who will come on here and say they just got a "deal of the century". Here is what one of the major boards post on their Tundra Forum (It's the board where you can get voted down). And that is despite Toyota's problems top of the line Tundra models still command sticker or above.

GM trucks are being discounted about $7,000.00

RAMs-are discounting their 2024 models.

0% financing are for those with stellar credit-and usually very short term (3 years).

If you are patient and want a Camry or Corolla-you can get a small discount.

Buicks are a deal because nobody wants one.

Hyundai's/KIA offers low financing.

Can't say much about the luxury brands-as I don't really follow that market.

I used to "flip trucks" quite frequently-that is probably a thing of the past-even with discounts they are still an easy 12 grand than before.

Deals and inventory (with few exceptions) are still not at Pre "C" levels.

Take this info worth as much as you paid for it.

I have been shopping base Rav4's and Mazda CX5's. Only 1 or 2 Ravs on the lot and marked up 1k over MSRP, the Mazda dealer has 20 or 30 and gave me 3k off MSRP just talking on the phone. I walked out of the Toyota dealer, no matter how much I might want 1 I dont pay over or even MSRP. The Mazda dealer has my attention, now to see what he will do with me sitting there.
My opinion is they are still over priced but I cant do anything about that except walk:D

Used cars feel like they still cost more than they did and there's no shortage on the lots here. We still bought one. 2020 Equinox LS, good CarFax. one owner, 38k, extremely clean. That's not rust on the A-arm it's dust. The Lund deflector indicates the age of the previous owner. :ROFLMAO: I wanted a 4 door Wrangler, she wanted better gas mileage. We compromised and got this.

For the most part yes but the dealers will lead you to believe they aren't. I suspect we may get a new round of tight inventory if the proposed tariffs take effect

Chevy dealer near us has add on stickers on all their new vehicles of $1,300 for security stuff, paint protect, interior protection, 5 year warranty for paintless dent removal etc. (we were just there this past weekend and shocked how many vehicles were sold from that last time we were there. Big dealer, the lot was overflowing 2 months ago and now its slim pickings. Even the electric Equonix's are gone.

We purchased a 2025 Gas Equinox in Nov 2024 when going over the final paperwork I caught that $1,300 was added on, however the excuse was they just rolled it out to the front and they haven't put the stickers on yet. Salesman was nice, asked you dont want the car if you have to pay that. I said, no way, we would not be buying the car.

Anyway, long story short I really was going to walk out with my wife. Saleman said to hold on, went to the "booth" finance manager came over to tell us what a great package it is. I didnt let her talk, I said, it wasn't on the window and we wouldnt be sitting here if it was. She said can I explain what it is? I said no

That was the end of it, they took it off the price. Salesman was cool, I do admit. He didnt blame us and when we had to deal with her for 0% financing she didnt say a word about selling us anything else. When done we told the salesman that, he said " I think you intimated her" *LOL*

Anyway add on stickers are certainly active here on the coast. We got the stuff they did to the car that they were charging $1300. I can tell the way the water is beading, I also noticed we have Wheel Locks and the spares in the glove compartment etc

Im not sure if our 25 has the same engine but wow, we are impressed with the acceleration for a small engine. I was a little leery at first but very impressed, not wanting any more power than is has. It's an SUV after all.

Having a 2020, 2021, and 2022 … I can tell you it was pretty darn crazy on the lots - 2020 was well below sticker - and the others at/above … Holding pattern for sure …

It’s not the inventory as much as the interest. I’m wanting to surprise the wife by replacing our 3rd car, 2018 rogue, with the new rock creek rogue. Even with credit scores over 800 the interest rates suck! When I bought her the 2018 we paid 0.9%.

Maybe interest rates are just more normal? We bought a 2020 Equinox last weekend and to get the car home until we can move some funds around we financed through the dealer. Our credit is well over 800 as well and best they could find was a tick under 6%. We'll make 1 payment then pay it off but 6% doesn't feel horrible.

Yep.
I on other hand refinanced Sequoia 3 days ago. Went with bank in Indiana when I was buying vehicle, high APR bcs. 2018.
Anyway, I refinanced with my local credit uni, preferred customer, saved bunch of money, and found out that vehicle I paid 39,000 is now worth $45,000.
Considering how “well” new Sequoia is doing, soon I will be able to trade old one for new one and make money.
