Just like 23 and me.
All I want my watch to do is tell time. ....collect my personal info.
I get the just wanting to know the time. I LOVE mechanical watches, all kinds of watches in general. However they now sit in my dresser draw, as much as I love them the Apple Watch was instrumental in having a heart issue corrected by ablation, using the data from the watch the specialists sped up the process in diagnosing an issue I was having with PVC's in 2021
It also recently (first time in my life) rang an alarm and if I didn't answer by hitting the cancel button it was going to call emergency services after I fell while installing a ceiling light fixture. My head took a direct hit on a doorframe. Momentarily I was out of it, my wife came rushing in and I was so out of it my eyes could not focus to turn off the watch from alerting family and emergency services. Everything was a blur, with my wife and I the siren on the watch was sounding, we were down to 15 seconds left to turn it off and I took a guess where on the screen it was to cancel and got it right.
All I am saying there is value to some people, like any device, its just a matter of what we like, I love electronics but I still to this day miss some of my mechanical and solar/ satellite watches. Their look is to me, all class.
The device you are using right now is collecting your information and the websites you are visiting are collecting your information, including this one.
Dont get me wrong, they all do, Ive only been on this site for a few minutes after clearing everything out. Im really only posting because you are bringing up a DNA testing lab and comparing it to a watch. Its not the same.
