Are Otterbox products really that good?

Oh, well. I had read different stories on Gorilla Glass claiming that even thrown into a purse or pocket with keys it wouldn't scratch. But, if you are actually doing that I guess you should expect scratches. My cell phones occupy my pocket solo. I use a phone for a minimum of two years and they look like new at the end. I guess if you treat your stuff poorly, you get what you deserve.

I ordered an Otterbox Commuter off of eBay for $28 delivered.

Should be here tomorrow (hopefully).

I saw some at Wal Mart (Also on eBay) called Survivor. They claim to be "military grade." They are even chunkier than Otterboxes, but they are definitely a more unique statement - for those who like cases.

^^Exactly. I use the left pocket. I only do that while moving around. At my desk at work and at home I take it out of my pocket - just in case there is anything to that radiation issue. :o)

Wish I commented earlier. On my third warranty replacement in 6 months. The commuter fatigues near connectors. I am relatively easy on phones.

I haven't had that issue with the one for my SGS3?

I did go ahead and order an Otterbox Commuter, and have it on my phone right now.

Overall, I'm pleased with it. It appears that it will do what I want it to, and do a good job of it. Although, I'd still consider it to be a bit pricey.

One thing that I was disappointed in, was the included screen protector sheet. It's not the right shape, and apparently wasn't manufactured for this model of phone.

It appears as if someone at Otterbox grabbed one off of the shelf and said "that's close enough", and that's the one that they're shipping with the Commuter.

That's awful. Make sure you complain, you may have been given the wrong screen protector.

Both the one for my S3 and my wife's iPhone 5 are CLEARLY made for our specific phones.

My wife dropped her iPhone 5 off the top of the stereo stand today right onto the corner of my SmartUPS 1000. Left a big "chip" in the middle of the screen, I was certain that the screen protector on the Otterbox wasn't able to protect against such an impact.

I was wrong.

Upon removal of the screen protector, it was only it that was damaged. The screen underneath was still immaculate. To say I was shocked was an understatement

Since the Otterbox came with two screen protectors, the other went on immediately.

My wife called up Otterbox and told them about the incident. They sent her some new screen protectors.

They really ARE that good
