Metro uses full syn TGMO. Had a free UOA done to verify. I'd ask someone in the service department about it and see how credible they seem with the answer. Also it's two free oil changes that you receive. One at 10k and the other at 20k miles.
on this forum we must differentiate oil groups, not the "cloudy' word "synthetic". i would think 0-20's prolly use some PAO in the mix, exxon mobil MAKES lo VIS PAO spectrasyn from 2 to 10, their 2.0 being 1.7 CST @ 100C, + it pours @ -87F !!!!
During the free maintainance they will use TGMO. Toyota corporate pays the dealer for the service. After that the dealer is required to use full synthetic 0w20, but not any specific brand.
I had this same question when I bought my civic and it called for a synthetic blend 0w-20. It also stated full synthetic could be used. I took one look at M1 EP and haven looked back!
