Anyone using JTP oils?

Yes, I did use it as planned. I have zero concerns about using this oil in this application. It’s not rerefined as some have seemingly suggested. The company does have a line of rerefined oils , but this is not one of them…

When I poured it into the engine,
It looked like oil…
It smelled like oil…
I probably should have tasted it too…

Perhaps I’ll do an oil analysis at the end of the oci next year.
I’d not listen to the naysayers. I used lots of Safety Kleen in family and friends vehicles without issues. Some folks just want to pick

After every substantive post in the thread advises not to do so.
To be clear, I wasn’t looking for anyone’s approval or permission. Just curious about others interaction with the oil or company… I’ve been looking after cars for a long time and never had a lubrication issue because of the brand of oil I used…

Sorry, I read your title to mean you were looking for recommendations.

There are 4 reviews on amzn for what its worth. If you want to help the community, do a VOA and UOA and share the data.

Their synthetic blend base stock is derived from re-refined oil. The full synthetic is not and priced reasonably.

For 3 dollars more, I can buy one with actual approvals and licenses; blended by a vertically integrated, trusted oil company.

If I were to spend my money on a lubricant without those, I'd look at the ones I trust, e.g., HPL, or Amsoil.

"JTP Full Synthetic Motor Oils are formulated to surpass API SP & ILSAC GF-6A industry standards in order to meet the ever-increasing performance and emissions requirements of today’s technologically advanced engine systems!"

That statement requires a lot more backing for me to consider them. But that's just me.

That logo looks like a blatant Chinese knockoff of STP down to the T being above the two other letters and cloners always try to do the common opposite for colors so they went with blue instead of red. For that price why would anyone in their right mind buy this. You can get better brand name 0/5w-40 for a lot less at Walmart.

Get a refund on that. I doubt the oil has anything in it. Probably has no additives and no antioxidants.
