Anyone own/drive a newer Ford Transit 350?

We are buying a 24-25 Ford 350 Transit for a camper conversion.
Extended, eco boost, etc. Swivel seats, HD, etc

Anyone have input? engine reliability? Driving comfort?
Uncanny! I was just looking at one this weekend...

We went camping with my Son's Cub Scout troupe this past weekend and the scout master owns one. I really like that thing. His is a '24. He loves it except for the MPG (remember, where in South Fl.) of 18mpg. But everything else is a 10 out of 10.

18MPG is pretty darn good IMHO. My Tacoma does not get better than that.

I bet that was not an AWD.

I agree, and that's what i told him. He cannot go off of the window sticker. It's unreasonable 75% of the time. I don't think it was AWD but am not sure. I base my comment on not seeing AWD badging.

Floorplans you can share for us to scrutinize or provide feedback? Portable generator? Plan on staying in campgrounds?

I drive a 2016 250 for work. It’s not terrible as far as work vans go. I think our ram promasters are more comfortable, but definitely less reliable, and I prefer the way a rear drive acts and handles vs a front drive promaster.

I have seen some negatives as far as maintenance goes on them…brake jobs (if you want to replace rotors) look to be a pain / lot of work. Transmission removal is also very involved. I can’t remember if there’s anything else.

I average about 17mpg in the one I drive. Mainly highway cruising, it’s loaded with wheels, tires, brake parts, a jack and tools. On e85 I lose a couple mpg.

Batteries and inverter, but will have shore power often. Campgrounds sometimes.

No floorplan I can post but very close to this: https://freedomvans.co/lwb-semi-custom-model/
That will be a nice RV. 👍
You can get pop-up shower curtains that fold up if you need privacy for outside shower. Lithiums are very light. My AGMs were 72 lbs. While the new lithiums are like 30 lbs. Makes one feel stronger when lifting. 💪😂

I didn't ask where they bought it. I nearly dropped when I heard they price. I guess I'm totally out of touch with van conversion prices these days.
Sprinter alone is near $80-$100K USA. Factory camper vans over $200K. US$. So $117KCan$ not going to buy much.

Ours appears to be better constructed than factory Winnebago and that type. All the wood they start with maple slabs and mill all the pieces for example. Way better insulation. Every inch trimmed out, not so in factory units. I can afford it.

I almost went MB but every person to a T told me not to

Yea, for RV's these days LifePO4 is the way to go. Just finished with 600ah of them in our camper. Work great!

I did a fair number of miles in a 15 150 Transit. I would say it was comfortable and reliable for the most part, toward the end i had an issue but it was mostly the dealer and not the truck.

I have a 1993 Roadtrek on a Dodge 1 ton chassis. It has the 5.2 Magnum and runs great. Can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 kids. No generator or water heater or shower but we do that at motels every 3-4 days. Rides good and easy and cheap to repair old school. Gets 16 MPG. Bought it used for $8600 years ago. Many trips out west. Also have Coach House Platinum 27XL2 It is super nice and has two slideouts and a Ford 450 chassis and Banks Power full kit and with the 6.8 V10 gets 11-14 mpg highway. The Roadtrek gets used the most cause you can park it 19.5ft body anywhere. Both front seats swivel and you can seat 4 people at the table for eating or card playing. WE have too many campers.
