I have a foot and ankle that has very poor circulation and for many years I have used Hope brand cotton socks that do not have elastic. They worked well because socks with elastic tend to restrict the circulation. Anyhow, about six months ago Hope brand socks went out of business and I have not been able to find a new supplier of cotton socks without elastic.

Does anyone know of any supplier of cotton socks without elastic? Preferably in white size 13.

I thought people with poor circulation in their legs are supposed to use really tight stockings to keep the blood from pooling up and help with flow?

The problem with my foot and ankle is poor drainage of lymph fluid. A really tight stocking could cause it to be worse. A specially designed custom stocking would help if I could get one that fits correctly. I have had my foot and ankle measured several times and they can not get the fit correct. A sock without elastic is what works for my foot and ankle. The Hope socks (without elastic) worked fine for me, but they are no longer being made and the ones I have are wearing out. Being a size 13 also makes it hard to find non-elastic socks that are made in my size.

Lot of good advice.
I might add the high heat setting of a dryer seems to destroy the elasticity of socks etc. rather quickly.

Wal Mart has loose fitting diabetic socks, at very good pricing, last ones I got were made in the U.S. A.!

Usually I get all my socks thru the VA but they only carry white any longer and I buy Black for dress wear from again Wal Mart.

JimPghPa,

There are lots of Men's diabetic socks on Amazon. Is that what you need?

Best wishes on your search!

I've had some wonderful socks from the Great Canadian Sock Co. It's not made in the USA, but rather in Canada; this would be a plus to Canadians and a minus to Americans, I suppose. They also have a website and ship online. Prices would be in Canadian dollars, so that'd be a nice discount, right?

Their non-binding dress socks are really good - up to 96% merino wool or 85% cashmere and angora, for example. I bought some of them because of their high content of wools and other quality fabrics without considering what makes a diabetic sock a diabetic sock: namely, the lack of elastic.

I prefer a tighter sock with elastic as I don't have any medical condition that would require them to be that loose, so while I turned out to have wasted my money, I did learn about some really high-quality dress socks for those who don't need an elastic.
